For anyone who does not understand what this software is or why they may want it:
Windows is not able to access HFS formatted partitions (Apple based systems use this) natively. This program/driver allows Windows users to be able to read these discs with the minimum of fuss.
Let's say you, or a friend, have an Apple Mac which will no longer power on and you require important data from the drive (family photos, work presentation etc). With this software installed, you would be able to connect the hard drive (once removed from the Mac) to your PC and copy the data from it.
I have used it many times in the past and it has really helped in situations with those Apple users who still believe that backups aren't important because "Apple products don't fail". Reality is, they do. Having this on your PC for when this occurs can be exceptionally handy.

Under no circumstances would I ever install Paragon software again. As much I'd like a Mac-formatted partition, installing Paragon software is playing Russian Roulette.
A previous Paragon giveaway, Paragon System Backup 2010, trashed my system. After making a systems snapshot it said it needed to restart the system to complete the process. I clicked ok, and that was the end of my operating system. I couldn’t even boot into safe mode, or last known configuration. I had a blank screen and blinking cursor. The F-1 setup came up, but it reported “no HDD”. I had to rebuild the machine and then reinstall Windows from scratch.
What’s more, at my last count, six other GOTD users have reported having their OS trashed by Paragon giveaways.
User beware.

I have been using Paragon software for years and have never once encountered a major issue with any of their products.
The only occasion I have seen strange things occur has been when exceptionally intrusive security suites have prevented the normal operation of them.

For anyone who wants to share a portable HDD between a Mac and a Windows PC (or dual boot a Mac) this is invaluable.
My iMac died (logic board) and I couldn't afford to replace it. Using this software I was able to remove the HDD and copy thousands of precious photos and music files to my PC.
Thanks to Paragon I can use the iMac HDD as a portable hard disk as well.
Freeware is available to to read from a Mac formatted disk but it can't write to it like this programme. The only software that matches Paragon's is the more expensive MacDrive.
Macs and PCs will read FAT 32 disks, but my iMac's HDD was formatted with HFS.
An essential download if you have both systems and worth downloading 'just in case' as a future investment if you don't.

Thank you to those who have responded to me. My sympathy to Paul and Mikko who had the same outcome as me, using other Paragon products.
My congratulations to those who have had had much happier experiences with Paragon - as most people must obviously do, given that they're still in business. Good for you. Thanks for giving us a balanced picture.
However, to those who say the fault must not have been with Paragon's software, simply because you've never had a problem with their software yourself, your logic is flawed. You have no reason to make that assumption. While it's helpful to report your own good experiences, it's not helpful to try to dismiss ours.
In the case of my own machine (well maintained and stable, before and since), there is absolutely no reason for me to believe the catastrophic failure was due to any other cause.
It's also worth mentioning that Paragon themselves have never once responded to a single GOTD user who has reported OS failure.
Good luck to all.
