Dudes...instead of writing BS (ie Windows already does that...what a joke...LOL!!)and rating GAOTDs like this according to your personal needs rather than to their real features, why not try them before judging them??
Are you afraid of messing up the registry of your PC??
OK...then....be smarter and use this magic free tool:
http://www.toolwiz.com/products/toolwiz-time-freeze/
As for today's giveaway, I found it a very nice software with tons of Advanced options which cannot be easily found elsewhere....
For instance it can shut down your PC in case of low CPU usage when you are away from your keyboard (very useful feature if use a laptop powered by battery).
Can Windows do this via Prompt Command?? I don't think so....but maybe I'm wrong...who knows...LOL!!
With this tool you can also specify cleaning actions before turning off your PC, such as the deletion of the recycle Bin, temporary files, web browser cookies etc...
So why 88% THUMBS DOWN?? Because you read the first misleading comments posted above and you thought that this tool was not worth a try??
Come on....
Does this mean I would pay 25 bucks for a program like this??
Of course NOT....LOL!

My personal recommendations (not a list from a search engine or softpedia - I run these programs every day)
Chameleon Shutdown (Freeware)
http://www.chameleon-managers.com/
Smart Power (Free for personal use)
http://ignatu.co.uk/SmartPower.aspx
WakeupOnStandBy (Freeware)
http://www.dennisbabkin.com/wosb/
Note: The last two (Smart Power and WakeupOnStandBy) I use for scheduling and managing the automated "Wake up" of PCs that are in Standby mode - allowing them to run administrative tasks unattended, and then return to standby mode.
If you are looking for something beyond the basic, or something that is quick and easy to use, the above provide the same or greater level of functionality.

open command prompt (as administrator) and type the following:
shutdown -i
This opens a little GUI to shut-down local and remote computers on your network, administrative rights required.
As previous poster said, you can also create a batch file and schedule using Windows scheduler. This software is a total waste of time and is nothing more then a rather ugly front-end for a feature that is already included in Windows.

Manual #1
1. Open the Control Panel
2. Go to Power Management
3. Select mode
4. Open Advanced options for finer settings
Done in less 1 minute.
Manual #2 (XP, Vista, ...?)
1. Run "cmd" in Start menu/Execute (opens a Windows console)
2. Type POWERCFG /? for details on the command
3. Type SHUTDOWN /? for details on the command
4. Create a batch (using CHOICE for the various usages you'll need)
If administrative rights are required, then RUNAS (type runas /? for guidance on the command) can help.
For example, in the Execute window, type exactly (or copy) the following:
runas /noprofile /user:MYPC\administrator "cmd"
Before pressing <ENTER>, you'll have to change MYPC with the real name of the computer, translate the word "administrator" into your own language, and provide the password when asked for.
To some laptop users: the command "powercfg /h" (or /hibernate) creates or deletes the file 'hiberfil.sys'. Running this command for other purpose is wrong. But it is right if you want to run a thorough defragmentation on C:, and then create a non fragmented 'hiberfil.sys'.
Too basic or too complicated for you? AgataSoft ShutDown Pro is nothing less than a graphical interface for these commands. You don't have to be a "Pro" to do this, "Amateur" is enough. And for the "Amateur" willing to go "Pro": tools like AutoIt help create the very same software as today'GOTD (maybe/probably already done with it?).
You have the choice: Pay (when offered for free, you still pay, but the amount is 0) or Learn.
