Usually, those who are eager to convert a PDF file to WORD it's because they want a format more suitable for text editing.

Due to the huge download size of this program (336 MB!) and me currently using an extremely slow connection, I was unable to download and test this program. However, based on my experience with Aiseesoft in the past, I've come to recognize them as either owned by Wondershare or a Wondershare reseller. I have used Wondershare PDF to Word Converter before and can say that is a great product. If my guess is correct that Aiseesoft and Wondershare are indeed the same, then Aiseesoft PDF to Word Converter is probably great too. So I would say give it a try and see for yourself.
That said, anyone looking for an excellent freeware PDF to Word Converter should download UniPDF. It is an always-free PDF to Word converter, has excellent conversion quality, and is only a roughly 5 MB download.

Tried to convert a 33-page PDF to .doc and .docx. The texts were messed up and the pictures were not in the original position in the PDF version.
Meanwhile the online converter site www.pdftoword.com actually produced a proper result doc file.

With a 336 MB download you should extend the time of the give-away.

Give-away team please take note of this download size issue for future products of this kind of magnitude.

I live in an area where there are power blackouts more frequently than I care for. The battery backup system will not get me through a 336 MB download. Two or 3 downloads attempts could take me 20 - 24 hours.

Also, does this give-away require MS Word to work? No good doing a D/L of this size to find out that I then need MS Office.

Just installed and tested. Here’s my quick rewiev based on the conversion of a few documents:
– A pdf document exclusively in English with a complex structure was converted correctly;
– A pdf document in Polish with an image oriented vertically, requiring OCR, totally failed to recognise Polish diacritics although the Polish language (along with English) was on the list of languages to be recognised by the software; the orientation of text and recognition of purely latin characters was correct;
– A pdf document in Polish with an image oriented horizontally, requiring OCR, failed totally – neither OCR worked correctly and the orientation of letters was anything but an unrecognisable mess of signs and graphics.
– A pdf document in Polish with insertions in English and French resulted in a rtf document with non-English characters replaced by weird letters, although all three languages were on the list of languages (allegedly) recognisable by the softare.

In each case, the software worked reasonably fast.

Summary:
1. Non-English characters are recognised correctly neither by OCR nor by the conversion engine even though the relevant language(s) is(are) on the list of languages to be recognised by the software, let alone pdfs in several languages;
2. OCR does not recognise horizontal images embedded in the pdf.

I did not try other options as the aforementioned results disqualify any conversion software in my opinion.

Total disappointment!!! Uninsalled!

PS. Why, on earth, software providers offer such a bad and undeveloped software only to have the software get known to public to be good for nothing?
