Thanks Ashampoo.
Noticed this is without time limit. i.e. even if installed some time later the setup.exe will still function.
That is generous.
Installed easily and activated with serial sent to me. Just be careful not to allow the toolbars , etc to be installed.
Noticed a new Ashampoo Software Deal icon was on my desktop. No issue as far as I am concerned. Just ignore or delete if you do not want it.
The music file edit aspect of this software is weak.
Music edit feature is inferior to XOOM (paid software) or Audio Record Wizard from another Giveaway.
Waiting for GOTD to give Dexster Audio Editor software.

I downloaded this and installed it. I then un-installed it after a couple of minutes. I have no interest in a program that can't even rip to MP3, the single most common music file format on the planet.

Just a reminder for those of you who call the emails from Ashampoo "spam" - If you give someone permission to send you emails (and if you're asked to provide your name and email address you can be assured that you WILL receive emails from them in the future), those emails are NOT considered to be "spam" under the definition of the word, since you give them permission when you fill out and submit that form. This is a common tactic that has long been used by companies to build a "prospective customer" database, and the practice has been used by practically every company that has a presence online.
Are there really so many people who are so altruistic that they believe companies just give away their products out of the goodness of their hearts? They're in business to make money by SELLING those products, and the idea is that if a number of people are given the product for "free" that they'll recommend it to others - who will in turn buy it. (That's the idea anyway - like it or not.)
As others have already pointed out, you do have the ability to stop receiving future emails from them. Simply follow the instructions that are included in each and every one of those "spam" emails. In the case of Ashampoo, you actually set up an account with them that enables you to receive the registration info, and I like the fact that you can log in and retrieve the serial number and install info of ALL of the Ashampoo products that you've registered.
Ashampoo is a regular contributor to GOTD, and I've amassed quite a collection of their software. If you look around their website, you'll discover other software that they offer for free (outside of the offer given here). Thanks to everyone concerned for today's giveaway!

I use Cakewalk Sonar since 2002 and unlike Ashampo I have never had any spam from Cakewalk in all these years. Because Cakewalk knows how to treat their loyal customers.
nuff said!!!
