The Good
* Straightforward and easy to use.
* Supports many input and output formats.
* Supports audio and video conversions.
* Supports batch processing.
* Users can trim input files before converting.
* User has control over the settings of the output file.
* Comes with a YouTube/Google video downloader and the ability to import videos from camcorders.
The Bad
* A bit buggy - won't properly import audio files.
* There is no "keep default resolution" option.
* Doesn't support SWF input.

It is easy to use and very useful for people.
The problem is the time it converts takes a long time.
So i recommend the free alternative ashraf recommended.

A great+rare feature of this tool is the ability to capture DV video (i.e. off a camcorder over Firewire). There are free importers, and free converters, but this is does both. Unfortunately my sister-in-law has my camcorder but the feature looks promising. :)
Also "directly" imports from some URLs, so may reduce the need for those third-party tools also.
Anyway worth a shot IMO, especially if you have a modern camcorder.
