Installed/ativated just fine on Windows 7 32-bit. Works fine.
Bad - Only imports from Outlook.
Bad - pop-up add event window uses blue on black text as its default that is almost invisible to see and I can't read what it says.
Good - layout is similar to Outlook.
Good - uncluttered appearance - it is just a calendar, so there are no newsfeeds/email/contact lists taking up space.
Definitely not worth $29.95 though. Again, its just a calendar.

Installs easy and quick. registration is simple.
the interface im in love with.I use Zune desktop theme(black and orange) for windows xp pro and gradient icool for fire fox(black and blue) this fits perfectly.
Runs smooth
process lasso rates it at 6.16% cpu avg usage.
It takes up 28.95MB of space after install with 20 registry entries.
I like how the date sits in the tray.
so far so good. scanning with Malware bytes right now and..........scan done. it is clean.
I think I will keep this one, I like the look and how it runs.
try it your self before giving thumbs down.
Thanks GOTD and Binary House Software this will be an interesting program to explore.

Dark Calendar is a simple, easy to use calendar app with more cute than scary Halloween-type graphics elements... this is about seaonal fun rather than something for Goth fans to use year-round. It uses the Firebird SQL database [firebirdsql.org], Msxml2, & with the Ofc 2007 style ribbon, requires Gdiplus.dll [from Microsoft -- you probably already have it]. From the included Help & Readme.txt files it seems it's designed to be a painless Halloween substitute for Outlook 2007, which you'd presumably go back to come November 1st -- you can also sync it to Outlook so you don't have to abandon those tasks that only Outlook can manage. According to those 2 files it also supports Windows versions all the way back to win95. It isn't terribly efficient about using your PC's/laptop's resources, but does that really matter for just a couple of weeks [or in this case 1 weekend] out of the year?... besides, if you were that concerned about practicality you wouldn't be using a calender app with bats & pumpkins on it anyway. ;-)
Installation creates the program's folder with 23 files, 4 folders taking up ~30 MB -- you also get Start Menu shortcuts plus one on the Desktop. In the registry there aren't many changes -- [for those who might want to remove all traces next week...] besides an uninstall key ["Dark Calendar"], an entry's added to HKCU\ASProtect\ SpecData "3EF217B70107D395", along with a new key for HKCU\Software\FIBC_Software.

Meh. While it'scute, I really can't see it being something I would use everyday. Maybe if they offered a calendar the design of which changed with the season to an appropriate holiday theme...
