It's been my experience that the McAfee siteadvisor.com site is much more trustworthy in terms of ratings than the mywot.com site (which is based only on user feedback, which can be subjective sometimes.)

Super
Installed fine and is currently ripping a DVD that no other program has touched before (including WinX DVD Ripper). I've been trying to find a program that can rip this disc so I'm very happy to find this one.
It uses all 4 cores, although for some reason it's not using all of them (my 3.2GHz Phenom II 955 is only hitting 30-35% per core). It's still relatively fast despite that, and it's simple to use. But best of all it works on difficult DVDs. Gets a huge thumbs up from me.
Thanks GAOTD and Nuclear Coffee :D
DiskRipper is a video converter that uses DVD files for input instead of opening, working with separate video/audio files. This is not a *Ripper* that removes DRM, so if it's legal where you live, & you want to backup/convert a DVD you own, you still need software to get protected video/audio onto your hard drive, OR, use one of the rippers that basically record the video window as the DVD plays. There are 2 main apps that attempt to handle DVD DRM: DVDFab & AnyDVD -- as for the recorders, there have been several on GOTD in the past.
As a video converter DiskRipper is somewhat unusual, being based on Mencoder instead of the far more popular ffmpeg code [en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MEncoder]. It wouldn't work for me in 7 64, possibly due to conflicts with other video software I have installed, but I didn't pursue fixing it as DiskRipper's only really notable feature IMHO is: "Automatically download DVD meta-information and DVD disc cover from the internet". Compared to other DVD converters it has fewer choices/settings/profiles for output format, & cannot trim, crop or preview. With CD ripping so common it's built into Windows' Media Player, it's inclusion in DiskRipper is IMHO no more than a convenience.
It's a shame really -- I very much wanted to like DiskRipper, from the moment I saw that the developers apparently took the time/effort to include what looks like a current version of the lame mp3 encoder... one of my pet peeves is that so many developers don't.
Alternatives: The fastest video/audio trans-coding currently uses your graphics chip -- I run ATI hardware, & there's a trans-coding utility built into their Catalyst Control Center, or better yet check out the free A's Video Converter. I *think* there are similar apps for nvidia graphics chips.
My favorite DVD converters at the moment are Xilisoft & WinX DVD Ripper Platinum, both prior GOTD featured apps. You also find a decent selection of free-ware &/or open source video conversion apps at videohelp.com, but currently nothing I like as well as those two.
Tip: If your favorite encoder/trans-coder doesn't *read* DVDs, quite often you can copy [no re-encoding] the DVD to a folder on your hard drive using the free DVD Shrink in re-author mode, deselecting the option to split the VOB files [in preferences] -- this gives you 1, big VOB file that many converters that won't do DVDs can/will handle. If you're after absolute, best quality, & not going to tiny frame sizes [then it's probably not worth it] check out AviSynth & maybe VirtualDub.
@Garfield, WOT results can be easily gamed, so don't be too trusting.
@HappyPerson
Strange - just copying the promotional text from the website is not a good way of showing that you tested the programm.
And- i trust WOT a little more the paid site like McAfee - those guys don't have a good reputation at all.
WOT's rating is based on user comments - and those I trust more than your reviews at all.
Fact - the programm doesn't do anything on WIN 7 ultimate except giving errors - its a waste of time to install this piece of malware - the programs need on a P4 3.2 GHZ 4 Gig of Main Moemory more than 20 seconds to load - - and - what the ?%&$§ does this program always with my internet connection. I decide whos using my line - and not a bad written piece of software.
Thumbs down and even the toes...
Stands back from the keyboard in amzmeaent! Thanks!
