I like animated desktop wallpapers but this particular one lacks the oomph that most I've seen have. There's not enough animation in either of the two wallpapers especially the second one and the first one is much too stylized. It lacks a manager and an easy way to cancel the wallpaper if wished. I had to go to the task manager to close the wallpaper down. also it needs shortcuts instead of the executables to run the wallpapers.
when running all desktop shortcuts are moved to the left hand side of the screen, which i found really annoying a si like my icons placed in categories and in particular places around the desktop. Thankfully when you do close the wallpaper down shortcuts do restore to their original positions. :)

Installed fine and quickly on Win7 x64. Unfortunately, the brief and problem-free installation was the best experience I had with this software. It repeatedly locked up every time I tried to run it at first(running as administrator made no difference), until I set it to WinXP SP3 compatibility mode. Then, it would lock up again when I tried to run one of the animated wallpapers, which were frozen instead of being animated.
Meh.

Something pretty harmless to play with [Running the GOTD setup.exe puts 2 files in the program's folder, adds shortcuts, & puts uninstall entries in the registry], Halloween Desktop Animations consists of 2 (fully portable) executable [.exe] files -- copy or move them to a USB stick & run them pretty much anywhere. The bad news is, in my experience where [or whether] they work properly is pretty much hit & miss -- e.g. on 1 PC this developer's desktop animations work in 7, but not Vista, while on this PC they'll work in XP, but 7's a no go.
In today's GOTD the 1st file [halloween3_full.exe] is listed as "Halloween Night" on the developer's page, while the 2nd [halloween4_full.exe] is called "Halloween Mansion" -- following the link at the top of this GOTD page you can see what each will look like. "Halloween Night" stretches to fill a wide screen monitor well, but stretched or not at higher rez [1080p] the animated witch may be a bit rough for some folks. IMHO "Halloween Mansion" does look nice, but you may want/need to turn off stretching -- stretched to wide-screen (for me at least) it breaks... it looks as if the black background layer doesn't stretch all the way to the right edge.

May 29th we had the “forest bridge animated wallpaper”. I liked that one and I’m very pleased to see this “halloween animated wallpaper” today.
It is just funny to look at and two in one catch.
There are some improvements also, you can hide the icons now which is also very helpfull when you're using fences.
But it still does not remember the "stretch"-setting on restarting the programm.
Icon-background still gets changed and transparancy still gets lost though.
Happy Halloween 4u all (thanks GAotD and AnimWp7)
@Mick: could you point out where I can have these plentu others available on the net for free
