As every other PARAGON software, this GAOTD is an excellent program and must have tool if you need a tool capable of moving lots of stuff on several machines running different OS.
However 188 MB seems to me a little bit too much for a program of this kind....
Moreover, as far as I'm concerned, besides making any app PORTABLE with free tools like P-APPS, there are TWO main ways to flawlessly migrate for FREE (yes FREE!!Magic word, right?? LOL!!) an old Windows environment(ie XP) and its APPS to a new one (Windows 7 for instance):
a) running your Windows XP (or even Linux-based physical system) as a VIRTUAL MACHINE inside a PC with Windows 7 or even Linux as OS, by using a FREE TOOL like "VMware Converter + VMware Player" and/or "Disk2vhd + VirtualBox":

http://dottech.org/freeware-reviews/10659/
Please note that these FREE solutions are better than using WINDOWS XP MODE, because they don't require you to re-install and re-configure your existing apps, which is instead necessary with WINDOWS XP MODE.
b) moving all your programs, settings and personal files on a new Windows 7 machine using the following two cool FREE TOOLS, almost nobody seems to be aware of (but there's Prof Giovanni for that....so relax...LOL!!):
* Portable PickMeApp
The only small (5MB) & portable FREE program on the market capable of moving personalized apps from one machine to another, running different OS, without any hassle. NO need to locate CDs and above all NO changes are made to the original apps, not to mention that the transfer can be easily reversed.

* Windows Easy Transfer
It helps you transfer your files, email, pictures, and settings from one PC to another with ease.

Of course, to clone your HD you can also use excellent FREE DISK IMAGING tools like MACRIUM REFLECT or better yet you may also try the following two cool free apps:
http://www.xxclone.com/index.htm
http://www.easeus.com/disk-copy/home-edition/
The first one mentioned above (XXCLONE) can clone your system volume to another (from FAT to NTFS or vice versa) and then make it self-bootable. So it's perfect for periodic backup and/or a one-time disk migration but, unlike disk imaging tools, it can also copy files and folders without any hassle.
The second one (EaseUS Disk Copy Home Edition) enables you to copy all or part of your Hard Drive to another one, sector by sector, through a BOOTABLE CD, regardless of your OS, file system and partition structures.
Finally, to safely evaluate any new software (GAOTDs included) without making any change in the registry of your PC, be smarter and do like me: just use the excellent freeware TOOLWIZ TIME FREEZE, kissing malware (and your wallet) goodbye:

Enjoy!!
Ciao

Went to the website and logged in to my account. I clicked on "Drive Copy 11 Pro" that I had downloaded from GOTD on 22/02/12. I then clicked on updates and was told that there is no updates at this time. I then went to the home page and looked at the latest release date for this Giveaway and the date is 02-02-2011. So if you already have this Giveaway from last Feb. and unless you just like to download things then delete them so you can download them again I would recommend passing on this offer.

I have downloaded some Paragon freebies in the past, (and even paid for one or two others!). However, while I appreciate the raison d'etre behind Paragon as a company, IMO they slice up their offerings too finely with too many variations on their niche of disk management utilities. Some overlap, some are incompatible if you don't choose carefully, some are hobbled or handicapped, most leave you wanting or needing more. I'd rather pay for one proper finely meshed suite of utility than juggle, decipher and manage a half dozen overlapping freebies.

I know my comment will not be popular but I don't care for Paragon offerings. First they are huge downloads. Often they are well over 100 MB when free programs that do the same tasks are under 10 MB. Then the version they give here is usually unique and can not be found on their web site. The version here will be slightly better than their free program but not as good as their paid program. So the user is left to envy the extra features they could have if they buy the better program. For me I will pass on this. Thank you for the offer.

Just curious;I have downloaded a lot od Paragon stuff and created backups wityh different versions
Can I open the copies with any of the versions or do I have to keep the one with which I created the backup?
Needless to say this is important information!
