I strongly urge you to actually read the License Agreement displayed by the installer; it's not just the usual boilerplate.

The INFORMATION COLLECTION and SOFTWARE PIRACY sections contain a number of troubling clauses, but this section is particularly outrageous:

13. AUDIT. You agree that on PGWARE's request you will certify in writing your compliance with the terms of this license, including your use of the Software only on the number of computers licensed. You also agree that we may perform an audit which may include examination of your physical premises with prior written notice, and that any audit conducted will be paid for at your expense including an initial U.S $500 investigation fee. Provided that an audit determines all computer licenses have been legally obtained you will be refunded any audit expenses incurred.

Note that this basically says that by installing this software you agree to allow the publisher to search your home or workplace and that you agree to pay them an unspecified amount of money (of at least $500) to do so, although you will supposedly get your money back, at some unspecified later date, if it is determined (by unspecified criteria and by unspecified persons) that you aren't violating their license.

The Good
* Easy to use.
* Allows users to select from two different methods of optimization/cleaning: "Heal" and/or "Heal & Boost".
* Automatically detects computer configuration (such as what Windows you are running).
* Users can rollback any changes/optimizations made.

The Bad
* Lacks proper details about what exactly it is doing.
* Users are not allowed to select which changes they want to be made.
* Shows no warnings to users who try to run optimizations/changes based on the wrong Windows/CPU selections.

Downloaded OK, as usual from GAOTD.

Installed OK, but required Ad-Aware to be turned off (which is another "usual", I actually think it has to do with GAOTD, and am not too happy about it. But I'll survive.

Registered at their website. Fast and effortless. (And you cannot really fault a software-producer for trying to build a customer database from GAOTD-users)

Program itself is easy. One click optimizer, make your choice, "heal" computer or "heal & boost" computer.

And this is also where I stopped liking the program. As a rule, I do not like one-click optimizers that just "fix" things without telling what they fix. After running 40 seconds, the program informed me it was finished, and that I had to restart my computer to complete the "healing". No information of what it had done.

I DO have a system restore point from before I started this, and it MAY seem like I will be using it.

Let me have a program that finds the errors, reports the errors along with suggestions to what the program will DO with the errors, and I am happy. With this program, I am just a little bit scared.

@15 - The 'we are entitled to search your house - potentially at no expense to you' reminds me of that gag when one guy bets another guy $10 he can punch him in the stomach the hardest. The first guy punches the second, then concedes defeat and hands over the $10. The second guy is doubled over, but he won the bet and got $10 for participating.

I'd like to see - 'if we search your house and find you are not using pirated copies of our software - we will pay you $20,000 for the inconvenience to yourself and the invasion of your privacy'. Of course it is widely believed that EULA license agreements like this are never read by users, and some are considered to be not a legal agreement and unenforceable should they actually end up in court. (I'm not aware that the developer searching the users house has ever been a valid remedy for license compliance).

On to the software - I would never trust a program that has the magic "trust me" button - but doesn't provide details of changes or the ability to opt-out of individual changes.

To put it as plainly as I can - this is rubbish software.
