Excellent program if you want to be organized and efficient and (like me) don't like the W7 Start Menu.
It gives you more functionalities, compared to the basic W7 version, such as the ability to add your own programs, folder & files to the start menu and the option to group your programs by purpose (games, utilities, graphics, videos, security apps etc...).
THUMBS UP!!

The first FREE tool mentioned above even enables you to use search engines in order to easily find files & folders in your PC.
Personally, to keep my PC (and myself) organized, I prefer to follow another (FREE)approach...

Pros
*Allows users to customize the menu adding any folder, file, program, etc.
*Supports ‘Virtual Groups’
*Completely replaces the Start Menu, so using the Windows key brings up Start Menu X instead of default Start Menu
*For Windows 8: Adds a Start Menu, and has the ability to automatically skip Start Screen upon Windows 8 boot
*Allows users to skin Start Menu X.
Cons
*Has an extremely annoying delay when hovering over folders
*No offline Help

Hint -
shift+win - open menu under windows 8
win+win - open desktop from metro applications.
Program is very powerful but some features not obvious so I recommend take a look demo video that you can see on check update page.

You'd think any "power user" would have enough accumen to simply create custom folders in the...
"C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" folder. Then move your shortcuts into them. Done! Free. No extra resources used.

It's good to see Ashraf's on duty, once again providing us with his expert insight on today's offering. Being a long-time lurker of GOTD, I really do appreciate the efforts of Ashraf, Giovanni and others who volunteer to take the time to "educate" those of us who would rather not take the time to do the sort of due diligence that we really should be doing when selecting new software for our own "personal use."
(Remember - Per GOTD's Terms, no "commercial use" of the software is permitted, although I can't imagine how today's offering could possibly be used "commercially" anyhow.)
Having been forced to live with Windows 8 as a result of acquiring a new laptop, I've been extremely disappointed with its GUI, which was obviously designed to attract the chimpanzee niche market with their art-deco-looking "start screen" and all of the multicolored tiles, charms, gadgets and gizmos - many of which are updated dynamically and beckon us to click on them as yet another source of distraction (isn't there enough of that already? Why add to the mental strain?).
I truly do appreciate today's offering as a means to restore my old friend the Start button, along with the increased functionality that Microsoft just never seemed to get around to implementing in their own "start system" which has been an integral part of all versions of Windows since the release of version 3.1 back in the late '80's. Being a veteran of CPM and MS-DOS operating systems, I never imagined that a computer could be "dumbed down" to the point where it's possible for a 4-year-old to navigate through the intricacies of the operating system (which makes perfect sense to me - they don't have to "un-learn" the 30+ years of MS indoctrination I have to deal with).
But I ramble...
Thanks once again to GOTD and to OrdinarySoft, if only for making MY computer world a little more familiar, and perhaps even a bit more productive as well since I don't have to launch the Desktop from the Start Screen in order to interact with my PC to accomplish what I want it to do. As always, my best wishes to all and my personal plea for all of you to keep up the good work!
(And Just one more thing - To borrow a line from a really old Sci-Fi movie, "Keep watching the skies!" With all of the junk falling to Earth all over the place, one might be well-advised to be aware of the location of the nearest meteor-proof bunker at all times - LOL!)
That's all for now, from behind the Redwood Curtain...
