Support Dock 4.0 is just what the doctor ordered for maintaining the health and well being of your PC and in turn taking care of your digital life. It is a comprehensive manager for your PC and can take care of your precious data at all times. Support Dock 4.0 prides itself in being the brainchild of 100,000 people and what they felt they needed to make their lives easier.
To make your computer as good as new all you have to do is to optimize your PC’s performance. By optimizing your PC, you can improve its response time and the time taken to start up, prevent registry corruption, enhance its speed, etc. by cleaning up the registry build-up, removing unused programs that slow down the computer, etc.

Actually, what is this software for? I am not able to understand it from the description.

I'll confess to both having read this description and visited the website and am still uncertain what this software does.
1) Optimization--this part seems relatively clear in registry editing, but this is certainly not a unique feature.
2) Home networking--it's really unclear what the software does that is in addition to what the computer already does if, say, you are running Windows 7 with a small home network
3) On-line storage (mentioned in the website but not here for this product)--not sure how they offer "unlimited retention" with no annual fee
4 Live help/push to talk--Well, per the website, help is not unlimited and it's unclear what kind of help is being offered or by whom or for what purposes. With no annual fee, it's unclear what kind of help could be offered
5) Green PC--This is stuff that your computer pretty much should do with little intervention and/or you can locate the power settings and adjust yourself
I've never been confused before about why I would want a piece of software, especially one offered for free, so this is a first for me.

I went to their website, linked here, and watched the video, which
told me almost nothing except that it seems to be aimed at aging
New Yorkers. Weird. Take a look. I'd like some expert opinions,
or input here from the publisher, before even downloading to try,
since what it promises seems quite unusual to me.

A client of mine subscribed to this service. The support phone calls are handled from India. The program allows them to connect to your pc if you have a problem allowing the people in India fix or attempt to fix your computer. The last service call I went on to fix my clients pc they had told him "he needed a new operating system" and hung up on him. The service is the typical 3 ring binder support.

All this seems to be is a maintenance and general PC utility. It puts a dock on your desktop with clickable icons(that enlarge when you mouse over them) for the various categories, such as "Green PC" and general system maintenance. As far as I could tell all the Green PC component did was give you yet another way of managing your power plans.
In the "system" category there was an option to optimize your games. I clicked on it, but it warned me that I shouldn't attempt to optimize my games without the direct supervision of an iYogi technician or some such nonsense. Also, in the "dock" with the rest of the icons, is an icon you can click for "push to talk"...all this did(for me) was open my browser window to a page with their phone number. Anyway, I already uninstalled. I can't imagine what use anyone would have for this unless you just want quick access to your power plans with really snazzy buttons.
