There is no offline search, if internet connection is missing or blocked, all searches in the program lead to nothing but a "Your search - XYZ - did not match any documents." message, so for those without a internet connection, this program is pretty much useless.
Other than that, it did work as advertised in my short test, created a Zone index, made a search and it did find the documents containing the text.
Just for the fact that it doesn't work offline, it is a real dealbreaker for me.

Chasm, Why does a programm searching a local computer need internet connection??? Looks like thes want to participate on your documents, doesn't it?

2 fantastic Freeware pieces of software do the same without I-net connection: Agent Ransack by Mythicsoft or Ultrasearch by Jamsoftware. Give them a try, they might be better suited for your purposes.

If this tool requires an internet connection to work, does that mean I'm giving access to every file on my hard drives? If so, that means I've given someone I do not know to every secret key and password on my computer. I don't think that's something I want to do.

Raymond Fellers, i traced the program with WireShark and it did send at program start the full paths and filenames to the documents that have been indexed onto their servers, probably that's the reason why it doesn't work offline, as it requires to query the filenames when searching online. No other data has been send from what i have seen.
