One of these long winded and drawn out registration systems, requires two e-mails and even then it appeared it was registered but not activated, their words not mine!
Opened up to a simple interface with which I performed a quick scan and to my surprise it picked out programs it considered unwanted that I considered most useful.
The point of my comment is that there is no quick test of this program that can do it justice and careless use could do more harm than good.
Before I decide what to do with it I will wait in the hope that some commentators have experience with it over a longer period.

Well, I had downloaded this tool from Glarysoft site a few days ago, but what I got was just a sort of extended trial version, namely a pathetic attempt by the developer to induce users buying the main program ==> WOT (Waste Of Time)!

Today's giveaway looks like the full version of the main program, packed with the antivirus database updating function.

The main difference between this GAOTD and other antirootkit software out there concerns the detection method: UnHackMe tries to detect the hidden rookits from the beginning stages of the boot process, whereas most of other antirookit programs tries to find the rookits when they are already active.

How effective is this tool compared to other similar software out there? Honestly I don't have a clue about that, but this app can also remove Trojans, PUP programs!

So why not install it and use it for a while for FREE?

Is this offer a life-time database update version or something like a 1-year-subscription?

Mal-ware's big business. It's used to steal money -- to steal tech, biz, & military secrets etc. -- as a means of covert warfare -- and to steal the use of your PC &/or tablet &/or cell... while they can't, or don't use them for the more complicated bitcoin mining, armies of cell phone bots are being used for mining other crypto currencies. Companies or groups like Vupen specialize in finding vulnerabilities that they sell to the highest bidder -- often government agencies, but it's said not always, particularly with similar firms perhaps suspected of having a much more mercenary nature. There's one company that, after paying a very high price for a subscription, lets you browse biz & gov systems, networks, & servers worldwide, viewing their characteristics & vulnerabilities. One Kaspersky blog speculated that in the near future a biz would almost have to hire mercenary hackers, just to stay competitive with their biz rivals, assuming those rivals would have already hired their own hackers.

.
A rootkit is often part of more effective mal-ware used to gain & keep access to a system, & often ultimately a network or networks. In a nutshell it hides from Windows so it's in effect invisible. The rootkit that caused quite an uproar several years ago, because it came from Sony as DRM, altered Windows Kernel -- http://searchenterpriselinux.techtarget.com/definition/kernel . *Maybe* more common are rootkits that masquerade as drivers, so they're loaded first when Windows starts. *I think* the root kits that *may* be the most difficult to find & fix are those that add themselves to the 1st, hidden track on a hard drive, so their code is executed [started] the moment the system's turned on & reads the hard drive. What they have in common is that they tell the Operating System that the files making up the mal-ware don't exist

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rootkit
" Removal can be complicated or practically impossible, especially in cases where the rootkit resides in the kernel; reinstallation of the operating system may be the only available solution to the problem. When dealing with firmware rootkits, removal may require hardware replacement, or specialized equipment."
.
Will UnHackMe help? Maybe -- maybe not. There's no such thing as as 100% protection, particularly when it seems gov agencies -- not just the NSA -- managed to insert backdoors into software & firmware. Just as some bad guys [e.g. some of the Mexican cartels] have at one time been military, learning their skills that way, it's reasonable to expect some people leave gov intelligence agencies, putting what they've learned to use for their own personal gain.

Bearing that in mind, You have to balance they amount of time & computing resources you want to devote to security -- all software uses some resources, and running it, either constantly or on-demand, takes some time & effort. The software companies selling security software of course all say their products have little or no effect, but that's kind of like the ads that say all I need to do is take some pill & I'll lose 50-100 pounds. The more thoroughly your security software monitors things, & the more layers of security software you have, the more time you'll lose due to false positives. The companies writing & selling security software simply cannot know of every exploit, and if they don't know about it they can't include detection or protection in their pattern files. So they also base detection on behaviors, e.g. UnHackMe warning you that something wants to change a file on reboot or restart -- in that case the software may be legit, or not.

In case it's useful to you...
