This software (category) is NOT compatible with:
1.Windows machine logged in via Microsoft Account.
2. All Microsoft e-mail accounts.
After using software like this, be ready to change any and all Microsoft Accounts passwords on that machine afterwards as Microsoft will assume that the account security has been compromised. With all my devices and several Microsoft accounts it took me one full day to get back to where I was before running Windscribe.

60 GB per month for lifetime or for 1 year? I feel quite confused.

Would someone from Windscribe or GOTD please answer the question every one is asking...
HOW LONG AFTER INSTALLATION WITH THIS GIVEAWAY WILL THIS 60GB SERVICE BE ACTIVE FOR?
1 YEAR? LIFETIME? SOMETHING ELSE?
(sorry about the caps but I want to make sure it is seen since so many others have asked and no one has answered)
This is basic information and should always be included in the giveaway description.
Thank you!

A lot of unusual comments here being upvoted as useful. How is "I read on another site that someone I don't know anything about said that his grandmother had problems with this software so I'm not trying it!" useful?
I've been running the 60GB/mo free version for a few months now, and here are some real world comments.
The software installs and then loads as a small control window. From there, you select the location where you want to connect through, which is where your IP will appear to come from. The free versions are limited to about half a dozen or so sites, most of them North American. The paid version has many more sites available globally. Keep in mind that in general, the further away the site, the slower you access speeds will be. Without Windscribe, I have 120/12 speeds. Connecting to a site in my state reduces that by about 20%. Connecting through a site in Paris reduces it by half. This behavior is not unique to Windscribe.
The control panel is simple and easy to use. You can turn the VPN on and off at will from there. I don't use it full time, only for certain tasks, and I select a location close to me. I don't care if others think I'm in a city 300 miles away or in Paris, I just don't want them to have my real IP. Oh, and forget about hiding from the Feds with this or any other VPN. If they want to find you, they will find you. It's foolish to think otherwise.
The control panel has a clear display of how much data has gone through the VPN by showing you how much you have left for the month (that's on this plan; the paid version has no limitations).
Some annoying things...
Sometimes, it continually uses about 15% CPU resources, and continues to do so even after you bypass it until you use Windows Task manager to kill it. No idea why, and it's not always. I have it on now, for instance, and it's taking almost no CPU resources at all.
As another reviewer mentions here, when active it takes over the right-click menu options 'Save link as' and 'Copy link address' so you go to the secure Windscribe address. This is necessary to maintain your anonymity, but is somewhat annoying anyway.
Logging into a Microsoft account through it sometimes freaks Microsoft out, who then get their panties in a twist and send you alerts about how someone logged into your account from a different IP, and was it you? But you get the same nonsense when you log in from ANY access point/IP that's not your 'normal' one, Windscribe or not. Just be aware it happens.
Overall, I'm quite pleased with the program, especially as I get 60GB/mo access for free. The developers could do better responding to email questions in a more timely manner, but then it's always that way with freebies. I assume that perhaps paid subscribers get faster access. And they are in Canada, and have a sense of humor, which helps.

OK, I am interested - but I have some basic questions...
1. Can this be turned off when I don't want to use it or does it remain active all the time?
2. Can the same account be installed on several computers, or do I need a different account for each machine? I have a desktop, laptop and tablet all running Windows 10.
3. What about our phones and other devices that use either Android or iOS?
4. Although I don't expect to exceed 60GB, what happens if I do? Does it shut off or charge me a fee to continue past 60GB? If it shuts off, will it send me a notice?
5. I enjoy pretty fast speeds at home. Will this noticeably slow down my connection?
Thanks for any information.

1. Yes, it can be turned on and off as you desire.
2. Premium allows unlimited devices. Free limits the number to a single device. I believe the giveaway today is for Free with higher bandwidth limit (60GB instead of 10GB)
3. iOS has its own dedicated app, I don't think Android does yet, but it is possible to configure your phone to use this VPN, but apparently you need Premium for that.
4. Most likely will just notify you and disconnect without charging you anything.
5. This VPN is pretty fast, although any VPN will generally slow down your connection, I'd say give it a try and see for yourself.
